    Public Events and Tours

Our Extension Master Gardeners sponsor a variety of events throughout the year for area gardeners.

    Design & Grow Gardening Workshop

This workshop is typically held all day on a Saturday in late winter or early Spring. It includes a variety of seminars of interest to beginning and experienced gardeners. The majority of the seminar topics focus on ornamentals and landscape. The cost will vary from year to year. Workshop flyer.

    Tree Festival

This event features seminars, demonstrations, and displays about selecting, planting, and maintaining trees. Local vendors are on hand to sell trees and related products. This event is typically held in late March or early April. Admission is free.

    Herb Day

Herb Day is put on by the Master Gardeners and the Herb Society of South Central Kansas. The event features seminars, demonstrations, and displays about the Herb of the Year and other culinary herbs. Local vendors sell herbs and other plants for spring planting. The Herb Society sells a delicious brunch and other snacks.

    Garden Tour

The Garden Tour features 7 or 8 local gardens each year. The gardens show a range of landscape and plant options that are suited to our area. This is a great way to get ideas for your own yard! The Garden Tour is typically held in mid to late May. Cost is $10. Tickets can be purchased online, at the Extension office, or at the gardens during the tour. 2019 Flyer  2019 Map
